A.M. Best is the oldest, most experienced rating agency in the world and has been reporting on the financial condition of insurers since 1899.  Our Best's score is assigned only after extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluation of our strength, operating performance, and market profile.

In the "Rating Rationale" prepared for GUARD in December of 2009, A.M. Best noted:

"The rating reflects the group's strong capitalization and solid operating profitability achieved through management's disciplined underwriting initiatives as well as the cautious manner in which initial claim reserves are established."
